I just recently bought a royal pleco about two weeks ago. I didnt really know that much about the royal pleco when I bought it. I didnt know it needed wood luckily i always keep driftwood in all my tanks. Ive been looking at some pics on here and read that you should look at its eyes to see if they are sunken into their head. My pleco looks like his eyes are half in his head so im kindof worried about him.

I have provided plenty of wood and veggies along with algae for him to eat but i dont know if there is something else i can do for my pleco to become healthier.

Any tips please post
thanks
Don

Check his stomach. If it is sunken, then it is likely that he will not make it. Get your post count up and post a picture of him.

I'd say just keep on with the vegies and wafers, make you you put them in at night when everythings dark that way he wont be scared to come out and eat. Maybe try putting more than on kind a vegies in at night that way if he doesn't like one he'll eat the other, but I'd only do this untill he fattens up.

Died this morning i tried everything but he started to lose his slime coat and his eyes pretty much went flush with his head RIP. thanks for the info neway im def gona get another one this time ill be more careful at picking him out.
