im gettin a 75 gal. tank soon and im plannin on gettin a royal pleco to inhabit it. i have some questions:
How big do they get?
How fast do they grow?
What fish would make good tankmates?
Thanx im really excited for this new tank:D

my suggestion: Find one L330 (Watermellon Royal) full spot , you wont regret it.

prepare for Bogwood and Good Filtration.

They grow to a max of 40cm/16" SL (without tail) or 45cm/18" TL (with tail).

Slowly, expect an average of 2.5cm/1" per year.

Other plecs with similar diet requirements, and the vast majority of other
freshwater fish.

If the tank is long term for the royal, any other large fish might be pushing it. Make sure you have a very good filter setup (large externals or a sump) that wont clog easily. Do large frequent water changes. Provide good oxygen levels without a massive current. And provide adequate food on top of their wood diet.
