Royal pleco with bichirs?

I was wondering if I could keep Royal pleco with my bichirs?

It has worked for me in the past, as long as you have copious driftwood for the limnovoric Panaque to graze upon.

To be clear, I had a Ropefish (erpetoichthys calabaricus) with a Royal Pleco (panaque nigrolineatus), but it is within the family Polypteridae, and secretes the same mucous coat as a bichir.

Have two royals in with four bichirs. Been together about a year without any issues.

I had a royal in with a delhezi and an ornate with no problems at all.

I have one in with my endli and sen with no issues.

its not a royal, but i have three (common, albino, and spotted one) in with two senegals... no issues in the last month that i have had them.

i have no prob with the pleco & poly together until the pleco accidently tasted the slime on ur bichir.
