I currently have a 300 gal. tank, just gravel in it, time to time there will be algae, microorganism, etc. I am looking for a cleaner pleco that will clean the tank for me, i won't feed it anything, so should i get a green phantom or royal pleco? FYI i have a 6" arowana in it.

Personally i think that the royal would be more compatable, but youd still need to feed either of the pleco's, the best for cleaning are bristlenoses and bulldogs.
both are not that good at cleaning....algae...royal eats alot and you will need to feed him algae will not be enough to keep him healthy and happy also royal need drift wood...and GP likes meat more, I would go for a bushynose or a whiptail they clean well. hehehe
Ancistrus sp. and Otocinclus are the best algae cleaners, but they stay small. Even then, they should be feed more than just the algae growing in the tank. They can starve that way.
why not just get both? i have a 225 gallon with a 13" arowana and a 13" redtail/tiger cat and i have a green phantom, a royal and a grey leopard pleco and all is well.
