Hi, 2 days ago this rozy barb has stopped eating and today i saw that he has a weired growth in his "chin". It is seemed to come from under his skin . right now he is isolated in a small 10 liter tank with filter{he is 4 cm long}
and he came from an aquarium with 12 nirate 0 amonia and 0 nitrit.
Do ou have any idea wht is this? He is a bit less active them usual..

I have had fish with a similar development. I don't think it was a tumor because it grew so fast and even ooozed pus for a while. I too isolated the fish and medicated for bacterial infection, but in the end they died. I had 4 of them that this happened to. It's hard to know, but isolating it is good. In the smaller tank you can try to medicate just the one fish and see how he responds. Rosy barbs are fairly hardy so there's still a good chance of saving it.

What medication did you use? It did grew fast with this one as well, can you tell more about what you did and about the progression of the your case? thank you

but i dont know if its bacterial.. it could be alot of things..for now i gave him food with Garlicguard and he ate a bit, but im not sure that he swallowed it, i saw him spitting

If it is oozing with pus, then you have a bacterial infection. If it grew within 24-48 hours, then it can either be a bacterial infection or a parasite.

no its not... it looks like a really smal bumb which comes from beneth the skin. the scales ther looks ok

Research Lymphocystis, a viral growth, sort of like a cold sore. Ugly, but not fatal.
