very interesting. i just got done watching a documentary made by killer instincts and they say the cariba are also known as the red belly but the cheap pirahnas u buy in the store are called koshu. i dont have a clue how its spelled but the way he said it thats how u would pronounce it. in the wild other pirahnas from the serra family will come share a meal with the cariba. they showed about 100 cariba feeding on a animal and then came a bunch of irratins to help eat it, They also mentioned that in the wild most pirahna dont get much bigger then ur hand. pretty neat stuff. a stander RBP Dos NOT , Also body color and where they origenate from all play a factor to me . So A Caribe and a "STANDER" RBP ARE Different

ya thats what i always thought. humeral spot=cariba. but the common rpbs u buy in a store really dont have much red at all when they get larger unlike the cariba which has a very red belly so what he said does make since.
red belly piranha is a common name. so if you want to get technichal use scientific names. that right there tells me they are different.
