I currently have a 9" female red texas by herself in a 75g and I've just seen a beautiful 11" male red devil for sale locally. I'm very tempted to buy him (he's priced 80$ which seems kind of high but he is in great shape/color) .
Do you guys think that in case they'll pair up, a 75 will be enough for life?
(I have a divider with openings for the female in case the introduction will turn rough :)). Should I get any dither fish ?
Any feedback will be appreciated.

Give it a try.I keep a pair of festae in a 75.Just keep that divider handy.

Probably get more feed back in the hybrid section

Thanks you're correct. I should have posted this in the hybrid forum
Mods , is it possible to move this thread.....I don't want to doublepost. Thnx

i think u could make nice babies and yea give it a try but that is super pricey for a red devil

Unless that tank is divided one of those fish will be belly up soon! A 75 isn't close to large enough to mix those two fish all of a sudden. Perhaps they could get used to each other with a divider.

that was my intention ....to put the divider , add the red devil , give them time, then open the access for the female and in case they get along remove the divider.

I don't think the 75G will be big enough, and if you put in a divider, the remaining spaces will be too small for either fish . . .

I think $80 is a lot of money to put on the line for such a risk, but even if it was only $8, I still wouldn't do it . . .
