I am sure they eat plenty of fish in the wild. Mine also eats frozen krill. Should I alternate using feeders and krill? I use cons mostly and and fatheads occasionally.

Come on, help a Wurm out.

During feeding tonight, it was almost begging. Never seen a fast strike predator do that before.

Wurm,

Variety never hurts. You could also try large crickets (cheap & good HERE). Or stuff dead foods with processed feed, e.g. small catfish pellets.

As of right now, I rarely use feeders for this fish. Should I continue this practice, or use more fish in the diet for this guy?

i have 3 gar/needle fish/whatever you want to call them and from the beginning i made sure their diet consists of mostly live feeders. its nice, i dont need a seperate tank because the gar eat the feeders as they please and i dont know why everyone is so down on gars. they are a very fun fish to have. i dont know how aggressive these cudas are, maybe they would eat all the feeders you put in there immediately. it might take them some times getting used to eating live food.

Mine would eat until stuffed. I don't want to constantly have it eating feeders, just want a properly varied diet.

Welcome to MFK by the way!
