ok here's the situation, i purchased a 3" rtc from lfs and it died within the week. checked water, heater, food, everything...nothing. so i changed water, substrate, and filters. ordered another, within a week the same damn thing! this is my first attempt at rtc's but i do have channels, blues bullheads, and flatheads. this is my first exotic cat. whats going on?

How long was the tank set up?
Any signs prior to its death (getting pale, not eating, ect..)

When you said you changed the water, substrate and filter did you tear the tank down all the way ??? if so your tank is far from cycled and your water is probably what klled it..
yea from what ive found from mine, they seem pretty tough and can take alota punishment. it was probably a sick fish or an uncycled tank.
