Okay.

RTC: This is my first RTC, in a 125 growout with a florida spotted gar. I can't seem to get him to eat though. I have tried everything from live feeders, crabs, crayfish, pellets, bloodworms, flake, granules. I can't seem to get him to eat. I am disappointed because everyone elses seems to eat whatever they offer him and then more!

Spotted Gar: My spotted gar will rest at the bottom of the tank a lot, every now and then swimming around, and then resting at the bottom again. He eats well, but is it normal for this behavior?

Thanks guyzz!

Assuming your water params are in check, try putting a drop of crushed garlic on the RTC's food.

btw, i hope you have big plans for that RTC

they sell garlic foods for salt water fish as well .The first thing I would do is black out the tank with like garbage bags or dark colored paper so the fish both feel safe in a box and then I'd minimize the amount of light on a 125 I'd use only one 25 watt 12'' strip light like from a ten gallon tank these fish don't like bright light then slowly turn up the tank temp a deg a day till you hit 82 or 83 the try some diter fish like zebra danios in there to help them feel at ease the and your live foods like cray fish and a gold fish or two don't feed them this stuff all the time just to get them to eat at first also the RTC would probably go for a chunk of chicken liver

This is what I'd do .
