RTC discoloration....

Hey guys,

I've had my red tail for about 2 months and boy is he growing... Well I noticed that he had some slight discoloration to him... It looks like he has some paleness to his color only on like half his body... Is this because he is growing and shedding his mucus coat? Or is it something else... He eats like a champ and is active when the lights go out... And water parameters are good... so no issue there.... I was just wondering... You guys are the experts...

What size tank is the fish in gallons AND dimensions please.
What type of filtration does the tank have ?
What other fish are in the tank?
What do you normally feed the fish and how often?
What is your normal water change frequency and % and how is the water treated?
How large is the fish and how old ?
What is the temp of the tank? What's the PH? GH ? Actual numbers please
What are your Ammonia, Nitirite and Nitrate levels ? Actual readings please
If you don't know any of these go and buy test kits and find out ?
Without this detailed information we are only making wild guesses ... supply the full parameters and its reasonable to assume that a solution can be found.

if the tail is pale. Feed him krill. The substrate could be washing out his color as well.
