Yes and yes.fish that plecos usually choke to death on their spines or get torn up internally

I don't think he will die. My old rtc and three 3" common plecoes and lived as far I know he's still alive.

What are the sizes of the RTC and most likely the ex-pleco?

It seems pointless but check around the outside of the tank to make sure the pleco didn't jump... but it does seem he became dinner.

It should digest. Aripaimas eat plecos all the time in the wild. Of course, they actually grind them up first...unlike catfish.

+1 my wolf fish ate a pleco a while back and he digested it the same as my old rtc did. I think as long as it can completely swallow it then it should be able to digest it. I think the real problem would be it eating it and trying to throw the pleco up and it gets stuck inside the rtc's throat and choking it.

Dont worry about him. He didnt choke on it, which is the most common problem with pleco predation. RTCs digest food just fine. It is a real possibility, but internal injuries are pretty rare. There really isnt anything you can do if he ate it so dont worry too much
