I have 2 redtail catfish that are about 16'' and 9''. I have been researching and experimenting with foods for them. Does anyone with rtc or other large cats have any suggestions of things for me to try? I have seem many people use shrimp but what kind of shrimp is this? Also what sort of fish fillets can I use? Any other meats? I would like to start of make my own frozen food for them so that I have have alot of food for a fraction of the price.

RTC's aren't really picky eaters. A very of food will work out nicely. For the red to stand out on RTC's, I feed my (use to) market shrimp with the shell on, With out the tail. Talapia fillets, mussels, pellets, veggie pellets, massivores, Shoot....the list goes on.

Any meaty products would be fine. Massivore is prefered by RTC's though. If you want to feed them something new they will eat it. They eat anything and I've never seen an RTC refuse eating any kind of food in my life. My friend decided to even feed his popcorn and the RTC loved it...

Lots of fish especially ones that eat pellets learn that anything floating on the top is food.

Sooner or later if housed alone they realize that anything that put into the tank is food.
