Hi guys, Im working on a project for college and wanted to do it on something interesting.
So i thought id make an account and ask you guys as i can't find it anywhere and you're the ones who keep them?

Im doing a project for my exotics module and its based on feeding, the question I wanted to ask was how much do you guys feed Red tail catfish and what? i've read a few things dotted around on the internet but couldn't find anything for amounts of food?
is there a general rule or do you go with experience?

Thanks guys, hope its not too much trouble to ask about this?
Plus Large fish have always been a big interest for me and i want it to be a career path at some stage if possible.

Thanks again, any information is appreciated

When they are small, it's a good idea to feed until the tummy has a notable bulge and not feed next until the tummy goes flat. That usually amounts to daily or so.

With large RTCs, 1-2 meals a week again to a bulge is fine but one must be more on guard against overfeeding. This part is aided by experience too. It is said that barring accidents and improper husbandry, most large RTCs die in captivity due to over feeding (clog / bloat / constipation, half-digested food spoils, intoxication, infection ensues, then death).
