my beloved RTC has had gillcurl for a while. at first i thought it was getting better, well it just got worst. its still not like "superbad" but its noticable from a distance. hes in a 110 gallon right now, and i read somewhere that if you do a 50% water change every day for a week it will heal. so, i was wondering if it would be smarter to move him to another, smaller tank or would the stress be no much? hes just about 10" now. so, should i keep him in the 110 or go smaller? and does anyone know of a better way to treat gc? and most importantly, is the information i have come to understand true? could this harm my fish?

thanks for any replies and help in advance,
HPizzle

Hmm..Wonder if can you operate on it as you would with an arowana? We put my friends Jardini to sleep and started to cut the gills. It made a 100% recovery. Gills are straight as can be..

im not gonna do surgery on my RTC.

BUMP
no surgery. im guese im gonna start doing the heavy WCs today

How bad is the gill curl? If it's just the soft tissue of the gills, then clean water will straiten out, but if the curl is on the gill plate, then massage the gill to straiten it out.
If it is Bad, Cut it.

How big is the RTC?

its on the plate. actually, on one side, its completely turned in on itself. i really dont want to cut it, or know how to go about it.
