RTC gill is starting to curl outwards

one of my RTC gills is "Curling" outward. What is this, how can it be solved, and what the damage to the fish. He is young less then 2 mnths.

What size tank? What are the water parameters? Gill curl is usually caused by poor living conditions.

which he was subjected to in the early day thats i got him. But now he is in a 40 gal alone and all reading are at 0. I have a 100 gal Tenecor tank getting acclimaited for him now

The curl didnt start till 2 days ago when the reading where at 0

I believe that depends on the severity. If it is very minor, I think pristine water conditions can heal it.

ok cool, the water is pristine now and will be for his life. If he doesnt get better in 4-6 months ill contact a vet for surgery

You probably want to do some research on gill curl and RTCs though because my last statement could be wrong when it comes to RTCs. They seem to be very prone to gill curl.

I don't think the vet will perform surgery on a fish.. Most people that perform the surgery do it themselves..
