RTC Growth rate (Over 3 month period W/ Pix)

This is why you people need to research what type of fish their getting before you buy them. Also for all those people who say "There is no way an RTC will grow that fast", or "Fish only get as big as the tank there kept in." Well heres the proof. (with pixs)

On Jan. 18 2011. I got my baby RTC at only 1.5" long

Dang he's so cute.

Just one week later on Jan. 25 he hit the 3" mark (doubled in size in one week)

Feb.5 he was 3 3/3"
Feb. 12 he was at 5"!!!

Feb. 18 - 5 1/2"
March 4 - 7"

March 11 - 8"
March 20 - 9"
March 31 - 10"
April 4 - around 11"
April 13 - Finally hit the 12" mark

In just a few days shy of 3 months he has already hit 12"!!!


Just remeber this next time when you see one of these cute little guys in your LFS. They get BIG and they get BIG FAST.

This guy is my little baby. He lives in a 6x3 tank "for now" and i cant wait till he hits the 2 foot mark. Then ill add the next series haha.

Im still trying to figure that out. haha i just finished that build the first of april. But ive been thinking a plywood build again of 12x5. Still need to figure that out though.

Yup they grow scary fast, I had one who loved a 3 inch diameter pipe. He would swim in turn around and come back out while feeding. Saw him do it easily one morning and by that night he couldn't even come close to turning around in it. Strangest thing, and I got lucky to notice it that day.

yeah i can believe that. when he was small it seemed like he grew a 1/4" a night

I keep him fed enough. That oscar buddies up next to him. After i took that pic he just snuggled up next to him. Haha ever since ive put him in the big tank hes completely changed. The Pacu steal food from his mouth. hahaha Their CRAZY. I guess all the fish in that tank are crazy.
