I heard this off some website they can be housed in this but it wont last really long just asking. They said as lil as two inchs.

yeah wont last long. I dont have one so i can only guess how long it would last. Given the growth rateim guessing 2-3 months. if your lucky.

RTC owners correct me if im wrong. But a RTC in a 20 wont last long before it needs a new home. and if a 20 is your largest tank. Getting a RTC is not a good idea at all.

I kept mine in a 20 gal till he was 9" that took all of 1.5 months from 1.5". My friend has one in his 20 gal that is moving soon, his grew from 2" to 8" in 2 months. IMO they need a little more room front to back than they are long. Tanks end up broken if they don't have enough turning room. I never understood how powerfull these fish are till my big hybrid moved a 200 lbs rock over a foot one night. Tank buster is the best term I've ever heard for them. Been several members on here since I have joined with cracked tanks because of them. Best to move them before something happens. For now though he's fine in a 20 gal.

like everyone else said the 20 gallon will only last about 2 months. I had one out grow a 30 in 2 months from a little under 2" to just shy of 12" in 2 months (I was power feeding it).

I just aquired a 2.5" rtc and put him in a 20g for his own good. He would be a snack in my large tank :)
