The other day I visited a LFS in my area. Saw a RTC they just got in, roughly 8" long. The thing is it already has gill curl on one side and is missing two barbels. By the sounds of it this was shipped like this from a wholesaler and not a trade in. Anyone have any ideas on how this might affect the catfish as it grows?

The barbels should grow back, as for the gill curl, I have seen it trimmed back and then regenerate back to a normal form.
Not at big als, this one is in a petland in st. catharines.
I figured the barbels would probably grow back. I just find it surprosing that at this small size it is already in this bad of a condition.
