okay so we just did our weekly water change and we notice our 18'' rtc was gasping for air and twitching... we tested our water and we have extremely hard water.... bad alkalinity and our ph is in the alkaline.. VERY HIGH.. what do i need to do to stablize my water for my baby RAMBO... i'm scared i don't wanna lose him.. please help asap.... thanks in advance!! <3 Lacey

What are your ammonia, nitrites and nitrates? Size of tank? Tankmates? Tank maintenance schedule?
We have a 14" jaguar cichlid and 2 13" oscars.... with our rtc we have a 120 gallon tank.. we do weekly water changes.. usually about 40-50 percent ... are ammonia is great our nitrates are good too...it's the nitrites... hard water, alkalinity and ph that's bad.... AHHHH
