Hey MFKers, I am still looking into getting my first RTC. I plan to start with a 400 gallon pond then move up to larger pond (~1250 gallons). I do not know what filtration I would need for a 400 gallon pond, let alone a 1250g. Canister? Sump? What turnover would I need?

Thanks,
zgold

don't get the fish until you have the big pond up and running. grow it out in a tank but, please, don't get the fish until you have the final home for it built. "I'll upgrade later" doesn't work. I got big fish and then built a 600g indoor pond, and so many unforseeable things (for me, for others who think straighter not so much) went wrong with it, i had to take the pond down. now i got huge foot long fish in 50 gallon tanks and been waiting for 3 months for a Tenecor tank i bought to house them. now they're getting gill curl even though i change 50% of water 1 to 2 times daily
