hi guys just wanted to ask a question about rtcs and there tanks.
first question is size i can have an 8 foot by 4 foot wide aquarium with my 6 by 2 as a sump for it would this be aqequite and if so for how long could he live in here i guessed till around 3 feet long? i like to have current to my tanks as i own 3 pangasius sutchi and six clown loaches in a planted tank, do rtcs mind current? could the sutchis live with the red tail catfish?and aslo could i keep any tank mates with him in the long run in the 8x4, i know they can live with tank mates i raised one for my friends monster pond and he grew to 19 inches in 1 year (from fry) in my 6x2 and he eat all my fish including my 14 and a half inch frontosa. so its a long term question on the tankmates please help me would a tiger shovelnose be a good choice although i thought this would mean just needing a larger aquarium. i also like paroon sharks (pangasius sanitwongsei) can i keep these in this tank for any period of time?

Tank size is always a major topic of interest and great debate around here, that said though with a 8 x 4 tank you would be giving it a damn good home for some time (till it was almost 4' long actually and with the added volume from the 6 x 2 you should be good on normal water changes and nothing to crazy once they are larger)

TSN's have always been a hand in hand kind of tankmate... however you run a risk with any catfish that you own that if something will fit in it's mouth, chances are it will eventually end up there. RTC's have a cool little qurke however and that is that the bigger they get the less likly they are to actually consume a large tankmate (small ones are still of course fair game and will prob go missing... just look for the cat with the "it wasn't me!!" look plastered across his whiskers and thats your culprit)

aha ,, the thread entitled ''the tank size thread to end all'' was not one to end all ,,

here we go again lol

someone on here once said ,, ''if your neighbour asks if you are building a swimming pool , then its big enough'' ,,

sorry bout tank size question i know it anoys everyone. so with my sump does that mean a longer term i can keep him i there for i mean surely when he reaches 4 feet he needs a biger tank rite or will he b okay??
