my small bout 4 inch rtc eats alot which shouldn't be surprising. could they die from over eating? sometimes he eats so much his belly sticks out a lot.

not really he can but cats are designed to take in a lot cus they never know when the next catchable fish is gonna show up
He would regurgitate his food before he would die!!! If he eat's to much he WILL regurgitate, and the nitrates will go out the roof from the uneaten food and the acid from his stomach. If imediate water changes are not done he is in a risky situation. It is ok to get a belly, just don't go crazy and give him to much. After he get's a belly wait a while to feed him again. I give mine a belly about every 2 or 3 days, sometimes longer. just depends on visual behavior patterns.
well how large is he? if he is 11" + i would not be worried. they eat alot. mine got a 3" belly and would sit on the bottom for like 3hrs until his stomach got smaller and was fine
