rtc "shedding" ?

is it normal for a rtc to "shed" ?
there are little pieces of transparent ??? stuff ??? floating in my water, and when the rtc was swimming around, i notice it is coming from him in spots

i think its just its slime coat
i know tsn eat theirs so o limas
im ner to rtc just got on afew weeks ago

Yeah its normal i thaught it looked weird at first too when i had my bigger RTC then i asked here and they told me its the slimecoat ! my small one is doing same thing sometimes too.
