Good evening MFKs. 2 days ago i thought my rtc swalloed some rocks feasting on some goldfish. Today i discovered after cleaning the tank, he actually swallowed a large heater suction cup. How can I induce vomitting to get this out? He wont eat any goldfish or pellets but still eats krill. Hes about 16-17 inches long and with the bulge in his stomach he cant fit in his hidey hole cave so he just stays out now. I feel bad for him but have no idea if he can regeritate this back up or not. Ive read animal fat causes vomitting, but what exactly? I have no issue with cleaning tank right away so i dont care about bio loads or what it will cause to the water. I just want it out of his stomach. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm not sure what you can do. My friend said his RTC ate a fairly large size plastic marble that was part of the substrate decoration. The fish was normal and showed no sign of anything. That was long time ago. Good Luck.

my old redtail once swallowed a suction cup too he puked it up about a week later hopefully yours will do the same good luck

Yeah, the fish will eventually puke it back out, no worries. But if he still hasn't after 3 weeks or so then you should either contact a vet ($$$) or you can try to make him vomit. Vomiting also requires a water change.

if he is big u can stick ur finger in his mouth and pull it out i did it with mine look at a video on you tube lots of people do it and it wont hurt the fish

Thanks for all the advice guys. I wasnt sure what to do so I just kept hoping hed puke it up. I woke up today, still a large lump in his stomach. Went, ate some pancakes, had some coffee, transfered some movies to my hd, took a nice dump, and when i returned i found this.

JOY!!! Sadly i wanted to record it, but i must have missed it by 5 minutes as i found it at the bottom and marv (rtc) looking for food
