saw a feeder carcass yesterday on the bottom of the tank. is my RTC throwing up or is the food passing through?

never seen this before, and kinda worries me.

well i heard RTC can throw up rocks they have swallowed at will. so why not a fish carcass?

ooh i know!
he was barfing up the rock and while he did that the fishy came out :D

anyway, i hope he is oaky :D

Yep... that would be your classic RTC Puke... get on your water change as soon as you notice that as.. (already mentioned) They can fowl the water and basically not only cause a mess but can kill off tankmates and or all the Benifical bacteria in the filters so you have to cycle the filters again... nothing like wasting a couple weeks with that to put you in a :irked: mood

^^^ Tends to happen when they undergo stress OR water imbalance.

:grinno: Not always... I have one that will do it for nothing more than the fact that it can... In a tank with another one and the Second one NEVER pukes... but the First one... Pretty much 50/50 shot at keeping it's food down... I had a similar issue with my Big one around the 10-14" range... then he seemed to grow out of it and now I could feed him an old rusty can and it would go down and STAY down...
