Can i keep a rtc tsn hybrid in a 8'x2'x2' 240 gallon tank? Also how big do they get and whats their growth rate?

a 240 will last a little while, a year -18 months if your lucky. Hybrids grow fast. i have two that started off 2-4" in march of this year and are currently 16" or so each. granted i feed a little heavier than i should sometimes...especially when they were small. but never the less, these are true monster fish, reaching 4,5 or even 6 feet. if you have plands for a large indoor aquarium, somethgin in the 8x8 or larger rang then id say one would be ok-ish but bigger is better.Mine are in a 370, 81"x32"x32"...im already working out my next build which is a 9'x9' 5 sided pond.

How big do they get? I heard 21"

well mine again are only about a year old, figuring they grew a little bit before i got that at 2-3 inches and they are 16-ish inches now. so expect 3-4 feet easy. and they are a stiff bodied fish, unlike arowanas that coudl live in a 240. a 2 foot hybrid will need a wider tank to turn around in. expect a tank as wide as the longest hybrid you keep. and the wider the better. i urge you if u have no plan or desire for something liek a pond don't invest in a hybrid. they are hard to resell because they need such a large tank. not to mention they can and will think about smaller fish as food. including other cats...mine at a 2" tsn when he was abotu 4-5"

2' in the 1st year, 3' in 2 years, 4' in 4-5 years; rarely would they exceed 4' IMO and IME. Their normal lifespan is 20-40 years. 2' wide tank will last 1/2 year - I cannot keep such a fish with less than 2 times their length in the tank width....... even if the tank length is great.

Needless to say you'll need a bigger tank to keep him happy and healthy for life along with massive filtration. ;) I agree with tbtb having kept one to over 3' myself. Took him til about the 4.5 year mark.
