just got myself a new 2" rtc a while a go and i'm planning to get a TSN. bout the same size. thogh i'm wondrin if they grow at the same rate? cuz i've had both before but my tsn was much larger than my rtc when i got em. though my rtc eventually caught up with him@_@ anyways, whats the growth rate for these dudes? i dont want my tsn in the month of my rtc just after weeks:(

Mine were the same size when I got them 4" and they are both 17" now but I have heard of RTC's that become Dominant in the tank growing faster. My redtail would dominate swimming around eating all the food quick while the TSN used to wait for food to come to him. But he used to eat the algea wafers I fed my pleco that the RTC did not like. So I think that helped him stay the same size.

I also got another RTC last night 2" he is in with my community fish. I'm thinking he'll make it a month before he starts to eat my smallest fish (cory cats) then I'll move him.

TSN grow slower than RTC and RTCxTSN..BEWARE..these giant mouth monster usually snap out other tankmates that fit to their mouth, sometimes even bigger..:headbang2..sometimes they eat ROCK..:chillpill:

I currently have a 4 1/2" tsn in with a 3" rtsn we will see if one outgrows the other or they grow at the same rate.
