rtc-how big?
shrimp-alive or dead?

RTC 3"

shrimp alive

i dont have any experience with RTCs. But imo, 40 shrimp might startle him a little if the tank isnt that big. i dunno tho, if there was 40 hamburgers moving around me, id be a bit weirded out, ya know? hahaha

Should be fine, don't expesct the shrimp to last long and the rtc will grow very very quickly. I think i read somewhere that a good shrimp diet really brings the red out in their tails.

i have fed live fresh water prawns (big) with pincers and all. No after effect. Be warned, RTC have a pechant to eat too much though unlike goldfish they will puke excess out. So too much food around these cats is not necessarily good

Yeah, they'll eat until their belly can't hold anymore and then they'll eat some more. You might want to keep an eye on him.
