im fixing to build a 540 gallon tank and looking to get a rtc in along with my oscars, jacks, parrot, and pelcos where would the best place to get a quailty rtc and how could bring out the red in color with diet ?

Usually good, hardcore LFSs (as opposed to the chains) carry 2"-4"-ers for ~$20. One can get one on-line for ~$50 plus shipping. So, see what's better for you.

Also, everything else you mentioned will be lunch in about a year and a half. RTC enjoy eating cichlids of all sizes.
yeah after doing alot of research on this site last night after posting this i think i going to look for a different cat to house beautiful yes but even a 540 gallon is not enough for these from studying up on them it just wouldn't be fair too the rtc i think i might lean in the direction of a ray or two but thankx for the good intel
X2 on the marbled pim, although they will get a bit larger than 2 ft imo. If you have the money and are decent at keeping fish, look into tigrinus. One of my personal favorites.
