RTC x Heater question :)

Is it possible that my RTC might have burned itself on my heater? Cause I found my RTC with a wound on his tail and it looked like a burn but i'm not sure, I often see him lying with his tail against the heater. I will post a pic when I get home.

It is possible, My syno always hangs around the heater and about a week ago I saw a little whitish wound on its side. I assume it was from the heater. But then again it has been warmer here lately so the heater hasn't had to be working as hard lately so it's weird that the first "burn" in my tank happened now. Either way hes almost completely healed. Yours should heal up to.

My RTC has a red wound looks like it has burned completely though his scales/skin into the flesh, looks kinda nasty, I have no other fish in the tank so he must have done this to himself, somehow... :S

yea sounds worse then what my fish had. do you have stones/wood in your tank? Maybe its just a deep cut.

Yea, I think it just is a cut he is very active during night, he prolly just swam into some of the stones, bad thing is that now he has this really heaving breathing, his gills are barely holding on to him :S
