I already have a pretty large hybrid in my 460. Almost 2 feet. I want to get another but he would definitely eat him since I will probably get a 3-5 inch. So I was wondering how long could I keep a new little guy in a 55 gallon?

id say 2 months 3 months tops. he should be big enough to go with the other then. My RTC went from 1.5" to 12" in just under 3 months. Now i Got a TSN and a RTCxTSN in a 60 grow out till there big enough to go in with him.

Alright that sounds pretty good. I just dont want to keep him in there for too long. Also what would be good tankmates? I already plan on getting a rtc and a tsn. I dont really like pacu so other than them who could stay with him forever?

Also could I keep an Albino Wels with him? I would get a small on and once I feel its big enough I can put him in one of my ponds. I have one 4 million gallon pond, a 2 million and a 500k gallon pond. The 500k mostly has frogs and channel cats. The other 2 have channel cats, blue gills, and large mouth bass.
