Hey guys would an rtc work in an 8'x3'x3'?? if not whats the minimum

Oh god... here we go again ... Look around on the fourm... and you'll see a million threads about it

Lets just say it would last a long time... not life prob but then again that depends on your fish keeping skill level...if you suck at it then it will last it's life... if your good at it then you'll need to upgrade ... but thats years down the road

that tank could do good for a very long time though. If you get it small and grow it out then you'll have plenty of time to make something larger just in case. There have been several rtc on here that were smaller than 36" at more than 10 years old. I wouldn't recommend it, but one could definitely live in there for life if you really like doing water changes.

just dont keep any other fish with him...if hes alone, it will ensure optimum water conditions plus less fatalities...and dont feed him live food either...feed pellets...or dead food..will save u lots of money and less chance of disease....plus they dont grow AS fast if they eat dead food (hypothetically). if everything goes well he could live comfortably for at least 4 years from a baby size....

okay cool me and my dad ar e making eithere an 8x4 or 8x3 with built in filtration and heating.

no hes eating krill

Sounds like a great project, how much do you really want an RTC tho? You'd have to keep it solo or risk losing everything in with it. With a tank that size you could have some amazing combo's of fish. But if your heart is set on RTC there is nothing wrong with that either.

I wish I had a tank that size, it would be all amazon fishes! Maybe some rays... With a tank like that you have real options.
