New species describe, RTCxNiger Catfish.

General Remarks: An artificial hybrid between Redtail Catfish and Niger Catfish (suppliers description)
Size: ? (Currently 5")
Identification: Body like redtail but mouth like niger. Have sailfin-type dorsal with large caudal fin. Dark colors on all fin, body from dark brown to pinkish brown. Have small spines along body but small in contrast to niger.
Ph: 6.0-7.8
Temperature: 21c-24c
Feeding: Will eat mostly anything, chopped fish, prawns, mussels, pellets, etc.
Furniture: Large bogwood or places to hide would be appreciated, caves or branches and planted vegetation.
Compatibility: Great with large tankmates since the parental genes suggested they can grow that huge (theory). Also great with small tankmates, scavengers not predators.

Extra information

Had 5 earlier but down to the last one. Had them grow 2" in 18 days. Probably will grow around 3.5" a month. But they died at 5.5-6", before reaching one month old. Diet consists smelt fish & mussels. Probably died from over eating or thiaminase. My mistakes since I don't have any info about these guys to refer to.

The last one survive nearly two months now but grow so slow. Till now, only grew around 1-1.5". Currently activ and eats like a pig. Will update mpre on this guy, monthly update.

Photos: The one that died.

Do fishes like eating arowana? Exotic feeding for sure

Idk, I just feed em. The meat are too fibrous & too solid, I can't eat it. Give the fishes instrad, they take it.

The story started when my supplier netting some fishes off a river when he caught an arowana. Back then it was alive and he save it for me. The night before he suppose to give me, the fish jumped out the tank & died. Rather than throw it away, how about I try to make something out of it :D

Aren't you in Asia? Is this not an Asian arowana?

Looks more like silver aro to me but can't be sure. If silver lives in your rivers, it must be an invasive exotic.
