RTCxTSN growth rates

Based off a previous thread on this topic i gather that for the first year of their lives, thse fish grow at the same rate as an arapaima(2” a month) then slow down.

2 weeks ago, my brother got a little 2 Incher. Today, it measured in at 6”. Correct me if im wrong, but thats way more than 2” a month.

Or have i misunderstood what was said in the other thread

It grows fast. About right at 2inch per month. Will be 2ft in a 1-1.5years easy!

Different fish even same species vary their growth rates. Also some do get growth spurts.

You are comparing a growth averaged over 1 or 2 years to growth averaged over two weeks. That's where the discrepancy lies.

This growth rate is not sustainable long term.

As stated, fish tend to grow in spurts followed by periods of getting bulk instead of length and rest.
