If they have cover they will spend all day in there my one does if you go in at night he will be swimming around quite happy my one now comes out to be hand fed then pops straight back into his cover.

He will in a year out grow that tank and possibly eat all his tank mates.;)

i dont mind if he eats his mates. and the 200 is filled with fish that will eat him so this 90 is temporary. then he goes in the 200 and then the pond. the parameters of the tank he came from were a bit higher on the pH because of the crushed coral that was in there. i acclimated him well and he seems to be fine. the only thing that might be causing this i think might be the green sunfish because they are quit aggressive and might be nipping at him. what do you all think?

he has some fin damage but i bought him like that. the sunnies do push him around a bit but i dont think that they nip at him. stotty, can i see a pic of yours?

nice pond stotty. I just moved mine the other day. I am sad cause he is in a temporary holding tank for the next couple of weeks until I can get his pond winterized for outdoors in montana. It's gonna cost me some major mollah. When I moved him he was a tad over 31" and wieghed right at 19 1/2 lbs. Not sure how many stones that is for you though lol. He put up a hell of a fight after being netted. He now resides in a 50 gal storage tub filtered and heated until his pond can be revamped. My new landlord was wierd about me putting him in the garage so I have to winterized the pond. It's a lot of work and money. I am bassically doing it like a hot tube. With an insulated box, and insulated air tight lid. About $400.00 total for this project over the next 3 weeks. It snowed 6 inches last night, and the temps are about 5 degrees f. right now. blah I hate this. Your's is growing out quite nicely stotty. Can't wait to see that monster in the pond.
