he guys,
a have a 14'' rtg aro, in a 140 g tank, about 6x2.5x2.
its housed with quit a few much smaller tankmates.

- 7'' bichir
- 6'' CK
- 2 6'' hystrix rays,
- 2 7'' spotted gar
- 3 6'' peacock bass
- 3 5'' datnoid (microlepis)

the aro is not really aggresive against the rest.
only the smal dats en very rare but sometimes chases the rays.
but he only does that when the dats or rays swim away quick, and even then i always have the idea that he doest want to eat them but just show them who's the boss.
ive added a 11 inch dat yesterday,
and he acts quite aggresive towards him.
i dont get that because ive added the pbass aswell yesterday and he leaves them alone.
the big dat tried to swim away from the aro several times and tries to bite him.
this is just goin on for 1 day, and i changed the tank setup trying to let them make new territories.
is he aggresive because hes so big that he can be a thread? i cant immagine hes aggresive just because its a dat.
thnx

guess its a territorial thing.. the dat is obviously a predator big enough to compete for the same type of food, and therefore I guess the aro will try to show him who is the boss. don't worry.. dats are tough as nails and an 11" dat will beat a 14" aro senseless any day if he gets harrassed to bad. I'd say give it 3 days and it'll be fine! :D

sounds like my uncle's green haha his green beats da crap out of everything that swims fast for example his flagtail got biten in half O_O

not really in half but im just being sacastic you know what i mean badly hurt lol

get a bigger tank might help. Might be a territorial thing.

trying to show whose boss lol
