Hi All,
I recently brought a red tail golden arowana 7 inches it's been 3 days still he hasn't eaten anything.
The person from whom I bought him told me he eats pellets, I gave him pellets, black dried soilder larvae, prawns but still not eating.
He takes pellets in his mouth chews it & throws it out.
I haven't tried live feed & really don't wanna try it.
How many days can he starve?
Guys please help. IMG_20240105_204902.jpgIMG_20240105_204902.jpg

Are the pellets the exact pellets previous owner were feeding?
Just keep offering it should eventually start eating. I always would start off young Silver Arowana with floating foods.

The distributor from which I brought was feeding himlive feed. He told me that he will eat pellets but first five him live feed once as the place has changed & then don't feed him for 3 days & later give him pellets.
Will this work?

I would follow what your fish store guy told you. I had a problem with discus who were refusing to eat. I called the fish store where I got them and learned they were supposed to eat mysis shrimp (I was trying flakes *facepalm*). As soon as I dropped the shrimp cubes in, they went straight for it and have been eating happily ever since. BTW, this was about a week. In general, your fish store knows best when it comes to feeding.
