How long do i need to wait until I should get concerned about my RTG not eating. Its currently about 40cms and was fed prawns from the previous owner but he is not interested when I feed it. Been 3 days now.

Water and temps are fine.

I have read some dont eat for a month, but from my understanding thats when the fish is sick or has internal dieases?

Cheers.

They can go a month when they're big.
Mine is about the same size and it doesn't eat a lot, sometimes it goes a week.
You wrote "previous owner", how long has it been in it's new home? It'll take some time for it to settle in. In addition if you're trying to change its diet to something like pellets it's going to take longer than a few days.
Just try and feed it what it ate before, don't rush it, the fish will eat when it want to.

I am trying to feed it prawns, same as previous owner, not trying to get him onto pellets. I have to try and hand feed it because the prawn would just sink. He just swims really close to the prawn and doesnt seem interested.

Fish looks perfectly healthy, he's probably just stressed from the move etc. Just keep offering him food every day, one day he will take it.

Try some nightcrawlers or crickets to start it eating if you want him to eat as soon as possible. Then you can get him to eat prawns later on again, but that can be a bit hard to do, so I would suggest just to keep offering him prawns :)

aros over 30cm can take up to 6 weeks to start feeding after being moved

how old is this aro what is the date on the cert ?

yeah date on the cert is the date it had the micro chip put in normally about 5-6 inch

just wondered as the aro still looks young

2 years old is not that young feed it hard for a few months mario/giant meal worms will do the trick
