Ok so my RTM is beginning to not take Hikari Gold/sinking anymore.:irked: He is now begining to eat spirluna flakes and chopped up silver sides(sometimes peas). I starved him for atleast a week to no prevail then i end up cutting up silver sides to feed him.I heard that the higher the temp it increases there appetite. He tried to eat the pellets but just spits them out.The fish is 4-5inch+.I thought about buying hikari excel but it is kinda pricey, and i never tried it before. so lmk if there are any other types of feeding options

It shouldn't be hard to pellet train a cichlid with ANY pellet. Some fish can be a little more stubborn but they'll likely come around. Most of my fish hit NLS so hard they splash water out of the tank. I have everything from corydoras to tetras to loaches to cichlids (even fry that are a month old) eating NLS pellets in different sizes.

Well, if you offer a fat kid a salad and a cheeseburger, which one is he going to pick? Solution: only offer the salad. :)

I will starve my fish for a while and feed them earthworms...then a few days later ill offer pellet soaked in kent marine garlic extreme...I found the garlic at petco it does wonders
