Rtm max size

I had a pair in a 135 6 foot tank for about a year until he killed her hes somewhere between 12-14" Ive had him since he was an egg hes been that size for about 3 years now. im not sure what the actual max out is on them Im sure opinions will vary I did see one at the aca a couple of years ago that was pushing maybe 16".

That's massive just depends on genes and diet IMO but 16 that's huge thanks for sharing

This was my male from a few years ago. Got him from Ewok at about 6" and raised him to about 13"..... my favorite fish of all time. Unfortunately I sold it and it made its rounds before the last owner killed it. I still regret selling him. I had him in a 125g (6 footer) with a female and they were absolutely happy.

 
You can get by with a 125 but this fish can get near jag size, and is way more nasty. They deserve a proper 2' wide tank regardless of what works. Just as many ppl that have success have the male kill the lady. Dividers and rtms is no fun. At small-mid sized the females are often worse than then males. Kinda like Dovi .

The biggest male I've grown is about 14" but the biggest male that I've seen was easily 15" in a 500g tank owned by my buddy VMike. I've used a 5'x2'x2' 150 g tank and 6' tanks for my pairs with success. I was also able to have a pair in my 360g community tank with minor issues as well.
