All of a sudden out of nowhere one of my Red Tiger Motoguese has stopped eating. He was the fastest growing one then 2 days ago just stopped entirely. He swims around all scared like someone is out to get him and hides all around the tank under rocks, but then some times will just go nuts and chase everyone around the tank. Nothing has changed in the tank he is the biggest fish at like 3.5 inches. This happened to my firemouth a while back and also a green terror. They both ended up dieing i don't want this to happen.

I actual kept a close eye on him for a while because he was growing so fast and it intrigued me, so i know his poop has been fine. He also doesn't scratch nor do any of the other fish in the tank. Nitrates are below 20 ppm.

When the food comes down he starts snapping his jaws and shaking then swims through the area then hides. I'm treating with salt right now to see if he is just constipated or something. Any more advice would be appreciated.

i would try jungle parasite clear it sounds like a internal parasite my rtm did the same thing and the jungle worked...

If 3 fish have suffered the same fate your obviously doing something wrong.
Einstien once said "Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results"
Id say something is happening to stress them into some sort of internal bacterial infection or gill problems. Internal parasites are fairly easy to recognize. Could be too small of a tank, not enough filtration, improper water changes killing BB, chlorine. Usually doing things the right way, and not the way you think it can be done will solve most problems. good luck

I would agree its my fault also if I didn't own 75+ fish. The firemouth could easily be attributed to me being a newbie and not having sand and having it with other very aggressive fish. It was stress related. Green terror had stringy poo and did it within a week of me buying it. (They are known for this even with the best fish keepers)

I ordered some jungle parasite cure Ill see how that goes. I'm betting its an internal infection because I just found out we had a boil order and I didn't know about it. Its just weird no other fish had any problems.

def follow the directions or its not goin to work...

Doubt anyone cares but i wanted to thank the person that helped me. It was apparently something in my water with that boil order that i never got. A chocolate in another tank and a bumblebee in yet another tank started showing the same symptoms. I bought a store roll of jungle parasite cure and dosed every tank. They have all recovered now and it didn't even kill my crayfish.
