RTM sexing question

Is this mota a male? It’s about 3-4”

Female, males have spots on gill plate...motaguense are normally sexable around 3"

Yep checked on it this am definitely female turning red already. Really wanted it to be male can’t seen to find any males.

Agree it looks female.

I've edited your photo a little to bring out the details.

It looks a tad young, to be sure of gender, there is a possibility it may develop as at matures. It really only looks maybe 2 inches.

Everybody seems to like females more but I like the males more they are unique that’s for sure hopefully I can find one soon

That’s the stock picture from where I purchased it I just got it yesterday so it’s still adjusting but when I checked on it this am a lot of red showing thru I’d say it’s 3”

Although females usually have much more red, males can show it too. Its more about the small spots than the color.
