RTMs or Umbee?

Should I keep my RTM pair (both 3") or a single Rio Mag Umbee male (also 3")? I can only choose one because I don't have space for two tanks and I cannot decide.

Depending on the dimension's I would say Umbee. Big bad ass looking fish!

You've got the space so I would say umbee - maybe try for a pair down the road. Thats an awful lot of space for a RTM pair, almost seems a waste. I've got a small pair of RTMs in a 125 - beautiful fish(I like them better than umbees personally) but they are pretty shy. The umbee would be much more active & personable & make better use of a tank that size.

in all honesty an umbee will look cramped in a 250 once past 2ft, dimensions mean a lot. i had a 2ft red snakehead in my 300g for a while and it looked silly! and the micro is a long thin'ish fish, a tall bodied umbee past 2ft is really huge!

also the 250 will look far from empty if you get the rtm to breed in there, great size to leave the fry in while they grow for sale!
