Ok so i have a red tailed tiger shovel nose cat, (RTXTSN). About 2 weeks ago he fell ill his mouth and fins looked blood red and like fleshy on the edges he kept his markings but the fins and edge of his mouth looked like riped flesh almost like when you use rough gravel for cats. A few hours after he started turning upside down and looking very slugish and ill. So i assumed bacterial infection so i asked my local exotic fish shop and they agreed and sold me some bacterial medication so ive been treating him with the bacteria meds for the last 2 weeks him mouth looks ledd fleshy but now he looks like hes loosing scales on his side? And also hes still rolling around up side down then rights him self every now and then.

Any ideas thanks alot?

Could be a severe water quality issue...have you tested ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate? What size tank is it in? Tankmates? Can you get pics?

I tested them last week but i done a water change everyday for like a week so i better get it checked again. Hes in a 100g but hes been moved to a 50g as their is an oscar in their with him and i didn't really want to treat them both when the oscar was fine. Ill get it checked later today thanks

If it's bacteria, then it's in the water, and it's very possible that the other fish in the tank can get ill from it as well.

The catfish that you have doesn't have scales, so I don't know what you mean by his scales are falling off.

Sounds like it may be ammonia burn, and his skin is peeling.
