On Fri I divided my 40gal to house two fishes that im trying to sell, and when i came back on Sun night i saw that the male Red Texas had broken down the divider so i turned on the light and saw that the female Zaliasus was protecting eggs. I wasnt sure if the male was fertile or not so i just left them together since there was no damage done to either the male or the female. I left on Mon morning and came back on Tues night to find wigglers. Ill put some pics up once i find my camera.

nice...... even though it was unintentional

this should be a interesting mix if they are fertile. keep us updated.

do you plan on keeping the frys or killing them off?

They were fertile, i now have wigglers. Ill leave them in the tank with the parents, if they survive then ill get to see how theyll end up. If not, then it wasnt meant to be.

Here are a two pics i took when i found out they had eggs

can we get better pictures of the parents..? && Where'd you get the zaliosum? I'm big on amphilophus but haven't seen those for sale much, just from Rapps. I have 5 saggitae which are real close to the zaliosum that are about to spawn, can't wait.

The Zal Belongs to Ruck Fules, im just taking care of her. She was causing problems in his comm. tank and in mine so i had to divide the 40gal. She was diving the males crazy. Oh, and she came from Rapps.
