Does anyone keep Rubber Boas? (Charina bottae)

I have run across a few in the wild. They are very gentle and easy to handle. Are they available in the pet trade? I would feel a bit guilty taking one from the wild (haven't even looked into the legality of it yet).

Anyways, I have a student doing a report on one. He is a fifth grader and has raised tadpoles, hermit crabs, and fish. He asked me about keeping one so I said I'd find out. If anyone has info on feeding, reproduction, interesting facts, etcetera, please post.

MFK as an educational resource, gotta love it! :)

Talk with Ryan (link posted above). He and his father (Richard) are pretty knowledgeable on rubber boas.

You might even pop over to fieldherpforum.com. They both post there on a semi-regular basis.
