Rubber Eels

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
As you already must have realized these are not eels, they are amphibians, Caecilians by that matter, a group of mainly land dwelling, fossorial and limb less amhibs, even if some are aquatic like these. They arent hard to keep, a good 50 gallon will do for a few, lots of bog wood and hardy aquatic plants atached to it. Its better to keep them apart from any fish. Soft insects, earthworms, bloodworms and slugs will be acepted for food. Top quality water is needed.

I'm pretty sure the caecilians that go by the name "rubber eels" are illegal to keep unfortunately (if my source [REPTILES magazine, December 2004, "Say Hello to the Caecilians"] is correct). I scanned the bit about the illegality of the rubber eels.
