I bought a rubber lip from petsmart as a pretty much skin and bones fish. I've had it for over a month and it has filled out to look as it should but it doesn't eat anything I offer.

It just grazes on algae and wood. I offer regularly: cut fish, beef heart, hikari sinking carnivore, cucumber, zuchinni, blanched romaine. Still it refuses any of it, and I've watched this tank literally for hours both lights on and off.

I'm not really worried because like I said, the fish filled out and is well settled, I'm just stymied about his dietary preference for algae and wood over all the other foods I offer. The tank is planted, 0 across the board for water quality and on a 12hour daylight cycle. Have any of you rubber lip keepers observed this sort of apathy towards foods?

you are offering too much food that is really high in animal proteins, too much could cause bloat or other digestive problems, some protein is ok, but only occassionaly.
keep trying with zuchinni, sweet potato etc, it will take a while for it to realise that this is food, Also try him on some algae wafers, hikari or wardleys are always good.
It will feed mostly at night, and out of sight so dont worry too much about never seeing it eat, i have some plecs that i've had for years, and never seen them eating once
