So I dont have any extra tanks at the moment for quarantining fish but I have a rubber made plastic bin. Will this work? Will a heater burn the plastic? Do I need a filter or is a bubbler fine?
Thanks

Yeah a rubbermaid tub would work for quarantine if that's the only thing you have at the moment. I've done it before with no problems and the heater won't burn the plastic unless you plan on frying your fish first. :D A bubbler should work fine or even maybe a small in tank filter to keep the water moving. As long as the fish will not be permanently living in it, it should work.

Yes you can use it as long as it's an appropreat size for the fish. An aged sponge filter with some water from the main tank will do the job. Do regular water changes as you normally would and they will be fine for a couple of weeks. Use some type of screen over the top.

I've used a dark rubbermaid to hold the fish when doing major tank maintenance or moving the tank. I'd think the dark would keep the calm, the same idea of lights being off or moving them into a tank when it's dark

I just ran a used HOB when holding them in it :)
